Learning To Play Golf: Practice Pitch Shots To The Pin

improve your golf gameWhen learning to play golf you should practice pitching your ball near the pin for a one putt.

Mastering the short game is critical when learning to play golf if you what to improve  your golf.

Therefore you should strive to hit your pitch shots to no more than four or five feet of the hole location.

Ideally, the most significant golf swing tip here  is to spend as much time on your short game as on your long game, especially when first learning to play golf.

It simply means learning the game from inside out.

The best golf method in this regard is to begin with pitching your shots in 10 yard increments with the shortest and most lofted club in your set.

For many golfers this means to select a  lob wedge for the best golf shots around the green

One of the best ways to gauge 10 yard incremental pitch shots is to observe what part of your left arm bisects the back of your ball at the completion of your backswing to carry the ball the distance desired when executing  just a simple golf swing.

For example, you most likely will be able to pitch your ball approximately10 yards when you swing your lob wedge until you see the bicep of your left arm bisect the back of your ball at the completion of your backswing.

You may find you will be able to pitch your ball approximately 20 yards when you swing your lob wedge until you see the inside of your left elbow bisect the back of your ball at the completion of your backswing.

For an approximate 30 yard pitch shot you may find that you need to swing your lob wedge until you see the tricep of your left arm bisect the back of your ball at the completion of your backswing.

For an approximate 40 yard pitch shot you may find  you need your left shoulder to barely touch your chin at the completion of your backswing.

Then to define the process, you need to learn how far to swing your lob wedge at the completion of your backswing to pitch shots in five yard increments.

For example, for 15 yard pitch shots you may find you would need to swing your club until you could observe a spot between the bicep and elbow of your left arm bisect the back of your ball at the completion of your backswing.

When you can learn to pitch your ball in five yard increments you should be able to land it no more than a few feet of the pin— for no more than a one putt.

Tiger Woods was taught by his Dad to learn the game from  inside out.You should too. It is the fastet and most efficient way to learn the game.

One of the best ways to get started when learning to play golf is to know how to pitch shots to the pin in 5 yard increments.
